| The Design Process |

To get to the final design of Cinematique has been a long, painstaking process. Ken often only had
crude stick sketches and verbal descriptions from the creators as to what they wanted. Fortunately,
Ken brought back much more than he took away.
Finding an illustrator who could capture the right Art Deco feel took some time. Eventually, we were
lucky enough to come across an illustrator on the west coast of the United States who quickly grasped
what was required and produced the goods. Early sketches, which were done based largely on
written descriptions, yet are not too far away from the finished product.
Even the company logo, our starry jesters, has undergone considerable change. And Daphne, the
centrepiece of the Cinematique logo, is not the woman she was at the beginning. In the early days
she must have felt very undressed without her earring!
